West Palm Beach, FL – Tuesday, June 1, 2010 – It’s a jungle out there when it comes to finding “Mr. or Mrs. Right”.

On June, 2, 2010, nationally renowned security experts and retired law enforcement executives Andrew Scott and Robert Buchholz will launch MyMatchChecker.com, a website created to help keep online daters safe by providing insight and information necessary for making informed dating decisions. “The dangers of on-line dating are becoming increasingly hazardous and I wanted to continue my life’s work of providing safety and security to vulnerable elements of the public such as women who may meet unscrupulous people on the internet”, states Robert Buchholz, former State Police Captain and Albany County Undersheriff.

MyMatchChecker.com is the first of its kind in the nation. With new technology, the Internet and social media, an important safety issue has emerged. People, women in particular, are interacting with strangers on-line and then meeting them in person.  Horror stories circulate about these meetings ranging from individuals who are married, pedophiles, have criminal records, or have a history of scams and worse! “The world is a dangerous place and I have spent my entire adult life trying to protect people from harm’s way.  As a father of four daughters, I am committed to assisting online daters, particularly women, make informed decisions.  Empowering people with knowledge helps them make better decisions, particularly when emotions cloud our judgments. I believe that online daters should “trust but verify” and MyMatchChecker.com is the perfect venue to do that”, states Andrew Scott, former Chief of Police for the City of Boca Raton.

A Launch Party of MyMatchChecker.com will follow the press conference on Wednesday, at 6:30pm also at Monarchy Night Club, 221 Clematis Street, West Palm Beach. Attendees can meet new dating prospects, enjoy drink specials, hors d’oeuvres sponsored by Roccos Tacos, battle of the sexes/dating game activities with hosts Gretta VItta and DeShon Allen, music, and giveaways while learning about a national product for safer dating.  There will be a special guest appearance by Julia Yarbough of Highway to a Husband. Julia is an Emmy-Award winning broadcast and print journalist with 22 years of on-air television experience, formally with NBC6-WTVJ. She is very successful, but single and is exploring the United States in a cross-country journey to meet her husband. Julia has been featured on NBC’s Today Show and many other news broadcasts across the country. Learn more about Julia’s journey at www.highwaytoahusband.com.

The Launch party will also kick off the MyMatchChecker.com Dating Game Tour, a series of upscale social events that will be held throughout South Florida. The MyMatchChecker.com Tour provides an entertaining and vibrant environment where attendees can participate in a series of dating game activities, great food and drinks, and stimulating conversation while meeting new people.

The highlight of each evening will be the MyMatchCheck.com Dating Game. The game will feature three female and three male contestants who will compete for a date with a male and a female from the audience. The contestants will be asked a series of questions by the selected audience contestants. Then the audience will decide who will date. All participants will be match checked by MyMatchChecker.com. The MyMatchChecker Dating Game Tour wants to make dating easier and safer. Dating Disasters?

April 16th, 2010

It is Friday night and I am getting ready for yet another date from my online dating service.  I wonder if this guy will look anything like his picture or if he will be a gentleman?  We have talked on the phone and exchanged emails and he seems nice enough but one never knows.  I ran a background check on him with mymatchchecker.com and it came back clear, so at least I know he isn’t a sex offender or convicted felon.

I have been on some doozies of dates!  The guys don’t look like their pictures, they are 10 years older than they state, or they are just plain obnoxious.  I have met some nice men along the way and have made some great friends.  I just haven’t met my Prince Charming yet.

Have you had any dating disasters?  Tell me about them!  I would love to hear about it! Please leave a comment below.
